Our schools' 45-year history can provide the
perfect stepping stone for your child's learning.
The primary focus of Child Garden has always been in its formal
name: Child Garden Total Environment Montessori. We
strive to create an environment that addresses all the needs of children. This includes not only a quality Montessori
program, but also caring for the child's physical needs for rest and for proper nutrition. It encompasses outdoor exploration
of the community, large motor and imaginative play as well as extracurricular activities. The clear benefits of Montessori
Education are the development of concentration, coordination, order, and independence and we incorporate these precepts of
Montessori into the rest of everyday life, from hand washing to reading.
The mission of Child Garden is to provide a carefully planned, stimulating Montessori environment which will help
children develop within themselves the foundation for a lifetime of joyful learning, thinking, and living. We are a
child-centered community that honors individuality and encourages respect for one another and oneself. We believe that
the deep commitment and dedication of our community, which is made up of our school's children, parents and staff members,
is vital in the fulfillment of this mission.
Child Garden is family friendly and we want to be
a family tradition. In fact, Child Garden has become
so much a part of some families' lives that many children of our graduates have attended our school. According to several former parents, the experiences their children had at Child Garden were beneficial to their
children's development. As a result, they told other parents about our program. Even as long as 30 years ago, we received telephone calls, some from people in other states, saying they were familiar
with our school and wanting to enroll their children.
Child Garden Montessori stands
as a testimony to Marjorie E. Johnson, founder of Child Garden Total Environment Montessori School and Daycare Centers, Inc.
which was established in 1964 Marjorie was a dedicated woman, mother, wife, teacher, and friend. She enriched our lives
with her encouraging smile, amazing strength, and promising spirituality. Marjorie's legacy lives on through Child Garden
in mutual staff support and cooperation towards the common goal of striving to be the school she envisioned - a safe and secure
place for children.
Child Garden is owned and operated by Marjorie's daugther, Mary Consoer.
